I Believe in Having it All

If You are willing to get Creative

My Name is Sweta Chawla aka "Dr. Sweta" and I find writing a bio is probably one of the hardest things.

How do you sum up your whole being in a few lines?  I don't think we can because in truth we are dynamic beings and as women , we have a lot going on!

So instead, I will tell you my story and I would absolutely, love to hear yours too when we get to know one another.

I'll start with the professional "stuff" since that is how most bios begin.

I have a doctorate degree in Pharmacy and for 10 years, I was a professor of pharmacy (that's where the Dr. comes from.)

It was my first job after residency and I was really motivated. I had established many firsts during my tenure. I had a clinical site where I took the initiative to create several unique patient education programs in Hepatitis-C, Diabetes, Hypertension, Immunization. I also created to this day what is the first and only Community Pharmacy Residency Program in New York. I have lectured on many disease states that range from the GI tract to Pulmonary diseases and management classes as well. I published in a variety of journals and a workbook, served on many committees and received several awards.

Despite being very motivated, I always felt like there was something else I was meant to do. I could never put my finger on it and as the years went by, I started to feel out of integrity. I did not have any other passions and I had some really tight golden-hand cuffs. So a few years turned into a decade.

What I know now was that was my souls whisper telling me to make a change but I'm stubborn.

It took a traumatic entry into motherhood via my son being completely blocked off nourishment in my womb. At  34 weeks pregnant, I made a mistake with my doctor's appointment, which saved his life. He was born at just 2 lbs 9 oz and spent a month in NICU. Then shortly after I returned to my job after maternity leave I was told that a promotion I applied for was rejected.  I still remember breaking down and crying in my Dean's office "I don't understand, I worked so hard."

It took me a while to get it but, I had gone so off course from my soul path that the Universe had to use big guns to re-route me. One day I got so desperate after a raging migraine, I screamed out to GOD for help. I did not have a any kind of relationship with the divine but I was so desperate.

To my complete surprise I discovered that I never wanted to be a pharmacist and that I was carrying out my mother’s dream.  What was even more surprising was that I was actually a creative spirit.

To my complete surprise I discovered that I never wanted to be a pharmacist and that I was carrying out my mother’s dream.  What was even more surprising was that I was actually a creative spirit . I had the ability to create amazing experiences and an amazing life. The truth is that we all are creative spirits and you too can create an amazing life and the experiences your soul seeks. I wasn’t able to do embrace my nature because I was cut off from my source – my roots. A tree cannot grow if her roots are not nurtured. You probably feel this same pain of being cut off from your roots.

A big part of who I am is my family and how we live. We are a typical family with an unconventional way of living. We like the adventure of the non-conformity, the tradition of being in a family, and the security and luxury that comes with living faithfully. I like to sum up our Fun way of life as Fun Family Sacred Living.
